Malakanyang: Pagbasura ni PNoy sa P125 wage hike, dili pagpabor sa mga employers

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, May 02 (PIA)–Kusganong giingon sa Malakanyang nga adunay gipaboran si Presidente Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III sa pagbasura niini sa sugyot sa mga mamumuo nga P125 across-the-board wage hike.

Sa usa ka radio interview sa dzRB Radyo ng Bayan, gipasabot ni Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte nga nagmatinud-anon lamang ang Presidente sa iyang diskurso kagahapon sa paghandom sa Labor Day.

Pasabot pa niini, tanan man ang naghandom og taas nga suholan apan kinahanglan nga timbangon usab ang kaayuhan sa mga mamumuo ug employers.

Giingong dili angay makompromiso ang ubang trabahante nga mahimong matangtang sa trabaho kun ipatuman ang P125 legislated wage increase kun dili kini makaya sa mga negosyante.

Sa iyang diskurso sa pagsaulog sa Labor Day kagahapon, gitataw sa Presidente nga mas maglisod ang katawhang Pilipino kun ipatuman ang P125 across-the-board wage hike tungod kay kun sumadahon, mokabat man sa P1.43 trilyon ang ipagawas sa ekonomiya aron

PNoy announces P4.23-B rice subsidy for farmers and fisher folk

PRESIDENT Benigno S. Aquino III announced the availability of a P4.23-billion rice subsidy
program for farmers and fisher folk that will augment their incomes during the lean months
following a harvest season.

The Chief Executive made the announcement in his speech marking Labor Day celebrations
held for various labor groups in Malacañang on Sunday.

The President said this subsidy forms part of his administration’s efforts to address the
ever increasing prices of fuel and food as well as to provide gainful employment for our
countrymen.

The subsidy, the President stressed, will be used to pay the fishermen and fisher folks’
wages in exchange for their services such as the preparation and cleaning of the farms to be

May 1 regular holiday moved to May 3, DoLE issues pay rules

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) on Wednesday said that in view of the yearly observance of Labor Day, the Malacanang Palace has instead declared May3,2010, Monday a regular holiday in leiu of May 1, a Saturday.

The celebrations will however proceed earlier on Saturday, May 1,2010, ont the theme,
“Manggagawang Pilipino, Kaagapay sa Pagbabago (Filipino Workers, partner in change)”, in honor of all the Filipinos workers both at home and overseas, highlighting the greater social partnership of labor with the government, management, the civil society and other sectors.
