DTI says baskets can be “Shelter in rough times”

Department of Trade & Industry Regional Director Asteria Caberte says that baskets and handicrafts in Bohol prove to be one brilliant industry to rely on in this time of global crisis. With a production volume topping 11,000 assorted pieces a week and generating a weekly average of P1.2M.

With this fact in mind, the DTI brings to Bohol trainings in basketry, bayong making, beadwork, flora arrangement and franchising seminar to start the government’s emergency livelihood and employment program. (rachiu/PIA)
