DOT gears up for grassroots program

The Department of Tourism contributes to the Government’s livelihood generation efforts with its Grassroots Entrepreneurs to Ecotourism (GREET) program. The GREET program is part of the Government’s Comprehensive Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program or CLEEP.

Started late last year, GREET involves a small livelihood assistance of about P50, 000-P100, 000 to small entrepreneurs involve in tourism-related industries.

DOT undersecretary Oscar Palabyab bared PGMA’s instructions to DOT that they should not just be promoting destinations but also promote local products as well. (PIA)
