Police intercept gun shipment in Nueva Ecija
Cabanatuan City- Philippines — A shipment of 15 M-16 rifles to Isabela was stopped on Friday night by the Nueva Ecija Police.
Chief of Police Community Relations Bureau, Supt. Ricardo Villanueva said the rifles were in a van that was blocked along the highway fronting Central Luzon State University in the Science City of Munoz.
Villanueva added that the three people aboard the van — SPO4 Noriel Mamaclay of the Cagayan Valley police and two employees of the Santiago City government in Isabela were held by policemen as the rifle’s documents and transport permits were checked. Initial investigation showed the guns were intended for the PNP’s Special Weapons and Tactics team in Santiago City.
