PGMA pays tribute to gov’t workers

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo paid tribute to government workers as the vital link between the government and the people.

The President issued the commendation as the country celebrates this month the 108th anniversary of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) with the theme, “Republic Service – Kabalikat ng Bayan sa Panahon ng Paghamon.”

The President pointed out that “, government professionals serve as the important link that connects our government and our people.”

It is high time that the country celebrates the accomplishments of Filipino civil servants who have played an essential role in the nation’s wellbeing, she said.

The Chief Executive also cited the role played by the government personnel in the country’s strong and growing economy, saying “we have labored together to create, to ensure peace, order and stability in our country.”

Earlier, the president made her commitment to increase the take home pay of government workers. (PIA/Bohol)
