Medium-term Philippine plan of action for nutrition updated

Under the leadership of the National Nutrition Council, the Medium-Term Philippine Plan of Action fro Nutrition (MTPPAN) was formulated in 2005. This is the country’s blueprint to address malnutrition among Filipinos.

In 2008, the PPAN was updated to be more responsive to Socio-Political and economic development brought about by Global Trends.

For 2008-2010, the updated MTPPAN is directed towards reducing disparities by prioritizing population groups and geographic areas that are risk to malnutrition. Investments shall also be increased in interventions that could impact more significantly on undernutrition. (PIA)
