Bohol ENRO advocates segregation at source
SEGREGATION at source is still the best and most cost efficient way of garbage disposal, hints Provincial Environment and Natural Resources officer Nestor Canda.
Speaking during a radio interview, the environment officer said proper segregation at source should work out to lessen the bulk of garbage thrown daily.
With proper information on segregation, people can now see that some items that were previously piled for disposal can still be recycled or re-used.
The advocacy by the PENRO came in time when city government is now pressed to act on the garbage problem here just as local governments are also mandated to put up sanitary landfills in line with the national ecological solid waste management law. (PIA)
