Bohol cops: region’s best
TOPPING over all Central Visayas’ provincial and city cops, Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) reaped an average of 71.6% for seven indicators to claim the accolade as the region’s best.
Police Provincial Director, PSSupt. Edgardo Ingking said their efforts have finally paid off pointing out that his men have relentlessly pursued efforts in the maintaining peace and order and internal security operations with an emphasis on comprehensive community-based anti-crime campaign plan familiarly known as OPLAN “Sumpo Krimen.”
Not wanting to grab the limelight alone, the Bohol chief also credited the coordination, support and collaboration of local government units and the other pillars of the criminal justice system, the AFP and the Boholano community in general, for the feat.
BPPO capped the highest rating after the Police Regional Office-7 and the Philippine National Police conducted the Unit Performance Evaluation in 2008 through an annual inspection.
During the PRO-7 inspection, Bohol’s police performance average topped others in personnel management and human resource development, intelligence, operations, logistics, police community relations, comptrollership and investigation and detective management, sources from Camp Sergio Osmena in Cebu City bared.
After BPPO, Negros Oriental garnered 71.60%, Cebu City; 69.21%, Cebu Province; 68.68%, Mandaue City; 67.81% and Siquijor; 65.70%.
